Weclome to the William Schran cone 6 crystalline glaze workshop!

Here are a few things you need to bring to the workshop:

  1. 3-4 pots made out of a cone 6-10 porcelain or white stoneware (please make the pieces more vertical and not taller than 8 inches – we are a little flexible on the height, we just don’t have room for bowls and plates.
  2. Pedestals/risers and catch trays for each of the pots.
  3. Bring a note pad and something to write with – I think we will all be taking many notes.
  4. Bring your experience and feel free to share your knowledge – we can all learn from each other as well.
  5. Bring your questions – the best way to get more out of a workshop is by preparing lots of questions. Bill may not have all the answers but give him a chance.
  6. You may want to bring your own brushes, many will be available to use but if you don’t want to wait to use that special brush, bring brushes that you are used to using.

You can ship any items listed above directly to the Art Center if you don’t want to carry them on the plane if you are flying. Ship them to:

Clara Ann Clay Studio Mgr.

A  more detailed agenda will be available when you arrive but the basic plan is:

Friday Night 6-9pm – Glaze, Glaze, Glaze. Bring your bisque pots, pedistals and catch trays to that session. After all pots are glazed, we will design the firing schedule and load the pots.

Saturday will be dedicated to slide presentation, lecture, demonstrations and Q & A. Glaze recipes will be distributed and firing schedules will be discussed in greater detail. Saturday evening we will have a social gathering – pot luck style.

Sunday will be dedicated to unloading the kilns, reviewing results, removing pots from pedestals, grinding and finishing pots.

Looking forward to seeing you at the workshop. If you have any questions you can call Clara Ann at: 727-688-6348
